Different patterns can be seen through the Baby Time™ mini-microscope. Examining these patterns will help you determine the menstrual cycle stage that you are currently in.

Dotted structure showing a random pattern of pebbles.

Dotted structure means you are not ovulating and it is highly unlikely that you may become pregnant.

Mixed structure of ferns and dots.

A pattern of small fern-like branches forming in between the dots. Mixed structure of ferns and dots means that there is a chance of becoming pregnant.

Distinct ferning pattern.

Ferning structure means ovulation is occurring and you have a good chance of becoming pregnant.

After ovulation, a mixed structure followed by the dotted structure will appear as oestrogen levels in your body decrease. The duration and nature of the menstrual cycle, as well as the level of oestrogen produced in the body vary among women. The intensity, duration and the patterns of the ferning will be different and unique for each woman. Monitoring your results on a daily basis is the only way to gain insight into your own cycle and successfully determine your ovulation days.
